Top Halloween costumes of 2025

Some costumes are iconic and will stand the test of time. Others are a representation of the times.

Halloween costumes are a big deal; people start to plan them months in advance to make the perfect one, although it is only worn for one night. What are some of the Halloween costumes we can expect to see this year?

Of course, there are the usual costumes, such as zombies, werewolves, vampires, skeletons, scarecrows, princesses, animals, foods, and so many more. But here are the top costumes you are going to see on Halloween 2025.

Witches

Witches have always been a famous Halloween costume, but these are different. After walking around Spirit Halloween, it is obvious that Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked are going to be popular costumes this year.   I think this is a good costume to wear this year because it is still relevant since the first movie came out last November, and the next movie is coming out this November.

Family

There are many different costumes for the family to match. The most popular family costumes to expect to see when Halloween shopping are “Jurassic Park” dinosaurs, “Star Wars” characters, and other movie franchises.

Funny

There are many different funny costumes to buy at Spirit Halloween. These costumes can be inflatables that will make people laugh. Some of these characters that are most popular as funny costumes are from “South Park,” “SpongeBob,” and other TV shows.

Scary

As a staple of Halloween, there are scary costumes that have been popular for years. A costume you can expect horror fans to dress up as for Halloween is The Grabber from “The Black Phone.” This is going to be popular this year because a sequel just came out on October 17, 2025. Another scary costume to expect this year is going to be Ghostface, from the “Scream” franchise. One of the most popular scary movie franchises and one of the most popular Halloween costumes. This costume is easy, as you just need the mask and a black cloak.

TV

Spirit Halloween has brought some “Squid Games” merchandise this year, due to the new season released on June 27, 2025. Something you can’t miss when you walk into the store is a huge doll from the show. Aroud this doll are various costumes fromthe show that areavailable for purchase. Another show that is popular at Spirit Halloween is “Saturday Night Live.” There are some costumes that aren’t directly from the show, but fans can tell that they are.

Pink

As more things are available in pink, so are Halloween Costumes. As previously discussed, Ghostface is going to be a popular Halloween costume. Spirit Halloween decided to combine both of these things and make a pink Ghostface costume that has been talked about on TikTok.

Superheroes

On July 25, 2025, “Fantastic Four”  was released in theaters. Due to the popularity of the movie, costumes from it are going to be seen on Halloween.

KPop

If you are on social media, you know that people are raving about this new movie on Netflix, “KPop Demon Hunters.” Due to the popularity of this new movie, many people are going to dress as characters from this movie for Halloween.
